Privacy Policy
Subnet Plus · Last updated June 14, 2026
In short: Subnet Plus does not require an account and does not ask you for
personal information. We show ads through Google AdMob, which collects limited device and usage
data. Anything you save syncs privately to your own iCloud. You can remove ads with a one-time
purchase, and you control ad tracking through your device settings.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Subnet Plus app (the “App”),
developed by Ted Trentler (Trentler Consulting) (“we,” “us”), handles
information. By using the App you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
The App has no user accounts and does not ask you to provide your name, email, or other
personal details. Information is handled in three ways:
- Advertising (Google AdMob). We display banner ads using Google AdMob.
To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device’s advertising identifier,
device information, app-interaction (usage) data, and diagnostics. Personalized ads are only
used if you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you
decline, ads still appear but are non-personalized. See Google’s
Privacy Policy and
how Google uses information.
- iCloud sync (Apple). Subnets, VLSM plans, lookups, and DNS servers you
save are stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit so they sync across your
devices. This data lives in your iCloud and is not accessible to us. It is governed by
Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Network tools. DNS lookups, pings, and traceroutes run directly from your
device to the hosts or DNS servers you enter. We do not receive, log, or store these queries
or their results on any server.
How information is used
- To display advertising that keeps the App free.
- To sync your saved data across your own devices (via iCloud).
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Ad tracking. Decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or change it
any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. You can also
reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings.
- Remove Ads. A one-time in-app purchase permanently removes banner ads.
- iCloud. Manage or delete the App’s synced data in
Settings › [your name] › iCloud, or turn off iCloud for the App.
Third-party services
The App uses Google AdMob (advertising) and Apple iCloud/CloudKit (sync). These providers
process data under their own privacy policies, linked above.
Children’s privacy
Subnet Plus is a general-audience utility intended for networking professionals and students.
It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information
from children.
Data security & retention
We do not operate servers that store your personal data; saved content remains in your iCloud,
and ad data is handled by Google under its retention policies. Communication with advertising and
iCloud services is encrypted in transit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new
“Last updated” date.
